WELCOME!
If you have a desire to explore the possibility of becoming Catholic, we are glad to share with you the substance and joy of our faith in Jesus Christ and His Church.
The preparation process, which is marked by a series of rituals known as the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.)
gradually, introduces the individual inquirer to the Catholic way of life, in the context of a community of believers. This is accomplished through study of Sacred Scripture and Tradition, prayer, liturgy, fellowship, and service. Adequate time for discernment is always incorporated into the process. One will never be made to feel pressured or rushed to make any decision one is not comfortable with.
The duration of the time of preparation (Catechumenate) will depend largely on the grace of God and the intentionality of an individuals commitment to participation and growth in faith. The Catechumenate normally lasts for at least one full liturgical cycle (or one year) culminating with the reception of the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist at the Easter Vigil.
Baptized members of other Christian denominations are welcomed into the Communion of the Catholic Church through a similar, though unique, process; which also seeks out, through careful discernment, the path best suited to them.
