If you desire to explore the possibility of becoming a Catholic, we will be very glad to share with you the substance and joy of our faith in Jesus Christ and His Church.
The preparation process, which is marked by a series of rituals known as the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.) gradually, introduces the individual inquirer to the Catholic way of life, in the context of a community of believers.
The duration of the time of preparation (Catechumenate) will depend largely on the grace of God, an individual's conversion experience; and their intentionality, commitment, participation and growth in faith. The Catechumenate typically lasts for at least one full liturgical cycle (or one year) culminating with the reception of the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist during the Easter Vigil (Easter Eve).
Baptized members of other Christian denominations are welcomed into the Full Communion of the Catholic Church through a similar, parallel process; which also seeks out, through careful discernment, the path best suited to them.
